Arslan Habib, a dedicated researcher in the field of #Microbiology and #Immunology, never expected his journey to take him from the heart of Pakistan to the dynamic city of Shanghai, China.

In 2020, Arslan enrolled as a PhD candidate in Microbiology and Immunology at Fudan, shifting his focus to #HIV vaccine development—a critical area of research given the ongoing global rise in infections. “From the moment I started this program, I knew this was where I belonged,” he recalled.

His project explores two innovative vaccine approaches. The first involves the use of HIV glycoprotein Gp120 and Nef conjugated with SBP protein to enhance immune response via intradermal injection. The second strategy employs intranasal immunization using multiple epitopes of Gp120 to stimulate a more robust immune defense.

A major achievement in Arslan’s academic career is his extensive research contribution, with over 30 publications in internationally recognized journals. Recently, he published two SCI papers on HIV vaccine development, where he employed computational tools to evaluate the efficacy of multiple HIV protein epitopes before advancing to in vitro and in vivo testing. His findings provide valuable insights into optimizing vaccine design, further strengthening his impact in the field of immunology and virology.
